Role

TG is looking for a hard-working, motivated, and self-starting Finance & Accounting Associate to join the Finance and Accounting Department and add to an already fast-paced and exciting atmosphere. This role will report into the Senior Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Controller and Assistant Controller in the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, prepaid expenses, leases, month-end close, and financial statement preparation

Active involvement and support in operational Accounting processes

Involvement in all phases of financial SEC reporting processes

Drafting of financial and accounting sections of the SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q, S-3’s, S-8’s, 8-K’s and proxy

Support of quarterly reviews and annual audit

Update and maintain the database for making and tracking clinical trial payments

Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley 404 documentation and support Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal testing

Account analysis

Review invoices for payment, accurate recording/coding of information to automated system, ensuring appropriate vendors are paid and payments are made on a timely basis

Proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP

Monthly close and preparation of monthly internal financial statements

Preparation and review of journal entries for accruals/reserves, preparation and review of supporting documents, analysis of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts, review of GL account reconciliations for accuracy and reasonableness

Preparation of site accrual close out file reconciliations

Various administrative duties in support of the Finance team as required

Ad-hoc special projects

Professional Experience/Qualifications

1-2 years experience in large national accounting firm, Big 4 preferred, not required

CPA preferred not required

SEC experience preferred

Biotech/Pharmaceutical experience preferred, not required

Strong Microsoft Excel and/or Access skills

Strong knowledge of GAAP

Experience with NetSuite or other accounting software systems

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Detail-oriented, with excellent organization skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to cope in a changing environment

Willingness to learn new tasks

Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task

Education

B.A. or B.S. degree in accounting, finance or economics, or related field
